In a major bombshell, Mohamed Salah announced just a while back that he will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season.

After ten very successful seasons in Merseyside, the Egyptian international will now be looking for a new adventure in the summer transfer window, bringing an end to an illustrious chapter in his career.

A market opportunity for Barcelona

This could emerge as a huge market opportunity for Barcelona to make a move for Salah and bolster their attacking unit.

While there has been no interest as of now, it must be remembered that the Blaugrana have admired the veteran Premier League superstar for years now and have been linked with a move for him in the past on several occasions.

Even though Salah has a contract at Anfield until 2027, Liverpool have agreed to let him leave for free at the end of the season.

A player of his quality and experience, being available for no transfer fee, could be a no-brainer for Barça, as long as it makes sense in terms of salary and Financial Fair Play.

At 33 years old, the former Chelsea and AS Roma star is entering the final phase of his career and might be willing to accept a secondary role in the team.

Moreover, having him play on the right flank and moving Lamine Yamal into the No. 10 position, where he has excelled at times this season, with Raphinha on the left wing, could be a mouth-watering prospect for the La Liga champions.

A fearsome attacking unit.

Salah, so far in 2025/26, has racked up a return of ten goals and nine assists from 34 matches in all competitions, which is below the usual high standards he has set for himself throughout his career.

But, it must not be forgotten that Liverpool rode to the Premier League title triumph last season on his brilliance and in a system like that of Barcelona, where there is an abundance of chance-creation, his killer instincts in front of goal could reap great rewards.
