Chelsea are interested in signing Leicester City centre back Ben Nelson in what would be something of a shock move according to reports.
The Blues are once again set for a busy summer and could look to fund their business by selling as many as seven or eight players.
Chelsea face a critical window with the club looking to sign a striker, centre back and right footed attacker to strengthen Enzo Maresca’s squad.
Whilst a striker is the main priority Chelsea are also looking to add a centre back, and there’s likely to be reshuffle in that position.
Renato Veiga, Trevoh Chalobah and Axel Disasi are all candidates to leave, whilst the Blues had identified Dean Huijsen as their main target, but he decided to join Real Madrid.

However, it appears Chelsea could have a new name on their radar, and The Telegraph have reported the Blues are interested in Leicester’s Nelson.
The report adds Maresca gave the 21-year-old his debut last season and he continues to admire the England under-20 international.
Nelson has had a brilliant season on loan at Oxford United in the Championship where he made 17 appearances in all competitions, as the team avoided relegation.
The defender is under contract until 2027 and has made nine appearances to date for the Foxes, and you’d expect him to have a key role to play next season.
Having missed out on Huijsen, the Blues do have alternative targets, and it’s thought they maintain an interest in Marc Guehi who they tried to sign in January.
The Crystal Palace captain will have just a year left on his contract at the end of the season meaning he’ll likely be available for a cut price deal.

Chelsea have also identified Ajax star Jorrel Hato as a target, and the 19-year-old is predominantly a left back who can also play at centre back.
There have been links with Lazio’s Mario Gila, but the most important thing is the Blues address the lack of leadership and experience in the backline.
