Report: Chelsea to battle Liverpool, Man United and Arsenal for €60m rated French star | OneFootball

Chelsea are among the Premier League clubs interested in signing Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi according to reports.

The Blues were active in the summer window as they once again heavily invested in the squad, especially in attack where they made five new signings.

With the January window fast approaching, Chelsea aren’t expected to be active, but things can change very quickly in football.

Chelsea interested in Lille star Ayyoub Bouaddi

Fans would like to see one or two signings in January for the first team, but that seems unlikely, although the Blues will no doubt have their eye on stars of the future.

Chelsea have already agreed a deal for 16-year-old Deinner Ordonez, whilst Mohamed Zongo will join Strasbourg with a view to playing for the Blues in the future.

However, it appears there’s another name on Chelsea’s radar, and Caught Offside have reported the Blues are among the clubs interested in Bouaddi.

The report adds Manchester United and Arsenal are also keen on the 18-year-old, but the Blues could offer €45-50m in January and then loan the teenager to Strasbourg, although Lille are said to be holding out for €60m.

Bouaddi, who’s previously been linked with Chelsea has made 20 appearances in all competitions, and is an important part of the Lille side who sit fourth in Ligue 1.

Chelsea targeting midfield signing next summer

Whether the Blues move for a midfielder in January remains to be seen, but there’s a good chance one will arrive next summer.

It’s been reported Chelsea are targeting a midfielder next summer to ease the burden on Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez.

The Blues have good depth in Andrey Santos, Romeo Lavia and Dario Essugo, but the latter two have missed most of the season through injury.

It will be interesting to see if Chelsea are looking to add more depth, or if they are planning to move one of the existing crop on.
