Serie A giants Inter Milan will reportedly rekindle their interest in Al-Ittihad winger Moussa Diaby at the end of the season.
According to Tuttosport via FCInter1908, the Nerazzurri view the French star as a potentially crucial summer acquisition.
Inter had tried to sign Moussa Diaby in January, but their last-ditch attempt fell through.
Indeed, Al-Ittihad turned down Inter’s offer in the dying hours of the winter transfer window.
Despite convincing the player to return to Europe, the San Siro giants couldn’t find an agreement with the Saudi Pro League club.
While Inter insisted on a loan deal with an option to buy, Al-Ittihad wanted to include a mandatory buyout clause.
As a result, negotiations fell apart.
Unfazed by the winter setback, Inter are preparing to reignite talks for Diaby once the season concludes.
Indeed, Cristian Chivu is keen to switch Inter’s formation to a 3-4-2-1 next term, and Diaby’s versatility would come in handy.
Despite operating mainly as a winger, the former Aston Villa forward can also play as an attacking midfielder.
Therefore, Inter are likely to launch a new offer in the summer.
However, Diaby won’t come cheap. Al-Ittihad paid around €60 million to secure his services in 2024.
Still, the player is reportedly desperate to join the Nerazzurri, which could facilitate the transfer.
