Unsettled Inter Milan star Davide Frattesi is reportedly reluctant to start a war with the club in order to force his transfer to Roma.

According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, the former Sassuolo midfielder will respect Inter’s decision not to let him join the Giallorossi this winter.

It’s not that Inter want to hinder Frattesi’s progress.

However, the defending Serie A champions can’t afford to lose the 25-year-old midway through the campaign.

Despite his ‘bench warming’ role in Simone Inzaghi’s system, he’s still a vital first-team asset.

Indeed, Frattesi has been the only reliable alternative to Nicolo Barella in the engine room.

Roma manager Claudio Ranieri has earmarked the Italian ace as a perfect midfield addition.

However, the Giallorossi cannot afford Inter’s prohibitive €45 million asking price.

As such, they’ll probably have to wait until the summer before making any formal approach.

Frattesi’s arrival will likely hinge on Lorenzo Pellegrini’s future at the Stadio Olimpico.

Without Pellegrini’s sale, Roma cannot raise funds for the Inter midfielder.
