Despite a poor start to the current season, the Manchester United hierarchy are not willing to rush into any decision regarding the manager. It seems that Ten Hag will get the time to turn things around at Old Trafford. However, he needs to make amends quickly in order to hold onto his job.

According to Football Insider, the four key figures who will decide the Dutchman’s future are Dan Ashworth, Omar Berrada, Jason Wilcox, and Sir Jim Ratcliffe. The report from Football Insider claims that they were the chief decision makers in the summer when Manchester United decided to persist with Ten Hag and they remain confident that he is the right man for the job.

Erik ten Hag is on thin ice now

Manchester United are one of the biggest clubs in the world and they cannot afford to underperform every season after spending substantial amounts of money on new signings. The pressure is mounting and Ten Hag will have to deliver the results on the pitch now.

He has spent in excess of £600 million on new signings since his arrival. However, Manchester United have not been able to push for the league title or do well in the UEFA Champions League. They will be expected to secure a top four finish at the very least this season. So far, they have amassed just seven points from five league games, and it will be interesting to see if the players can step up and produce a strong reaction in the coming weeks.
