Napoli and Roma have reportedly set sights on Inter Milan loanee Sebastiano Esposito amid his impressive loan spell at Empoli.
According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, Inter’s fierce Serie A rivals are keen on the young gun.
Esposito has been nothing short of remarkable this season.
Inter loaned him out to Empoli at the start of the 2024/25 campaign to help him secure regular first-team football.
Thus far, it has worked wonders.
Indeed, the 22-year-old is Empoli’s leading goalscorer in Serie A with goals from 17 appearances.
Moreover, he netted off the bench in Gli Azzurri’s 3-1 defeat at Inter last weekend.
Despite playing for one of Serie A’s least prolific sides, Esposito has been ruthless in front of goal this term.
His outstanding performances haven’t gone unnoticed, placing him on the radar of several top clubs in the country.
While Simone Inzaghi could use a player of his caliber, Inter may lose their sought-after prospect in the summer.
Indeed, Napoli and Roma are keeping close tabs on Esposito.
Meanwhile, his return to Giuseppe Meazza is still firmly on the cards.
With Inter ready to wave goodbye to Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa, there’ll be room for Esposito next season.
