Serie A giants Inter Milan will reportedly make a new attempt to sign Roma midfielder Manu Kone in the summer.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Giallorossi may now be ready to negotiate the Frenchman’s sale.
Inter Milan had tried to lure Manu Kone away from the Stadio Olimpico last summer but to no avail.
Indeed, Roma had shown no interest in selling the 24-year-old almost 12 months ago, comfortably turning down the Nerazzurri’s approach.
Moreover, new boss Gian Piero Gasperini has heavily relied on the former Borussia Monchengladbach star this term.
Kone has made 26 appearances in 30 Serie A games this season, netting two goals and adding two assists.
Despite Kone’s importance to Gasperini’s setup, Roma will reportedly entertain offers in the region of €40 million.
Though it’s been six years since Inter last splashed a similar figure on one signing, the Nerazzurri are ready to match Roma’s asking price.
Indeed, Cristian Chivu’s squad is likely to undergo a massive overhaul at the end of the season.
In addition to out-of-favor Davide Frattesi, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Hakan Calhanoglu could also leave the club.
Therefore, Kone’s arrival could become a necessity for the 20-time Italian champions.
