The injury changes the timeline, and in football the timeline is everything. Tresoldi’s numbers are respectable, 23 goals in 58 games across competitions for Club Brugge, and his profile is modern. He runs well, combines neatly and gives structure to attacking moves. At 21, he offers years of value. The problem is obvious. Signing him would mean doubling down on a similar age bracket to Kroupi, and clubs rarely keep collecting developmental strikers without eventually blocking one another’s pathway.

Transfer Logic Points to Short-Term Experience

This is why the sensible route may be the least glamorous one. If Tottenham still believe Kroupi is worth waiting for, then the cleaner move is an experienced short-term striker who can give De Zerbi functional depth now without complicating next summer. It is not romantic, but squad building rarely is. The clever clubs avoid making two expensive bets on the same profile unless they are absolutely certain one can shift wide or leave quickly.

Tottenham do not need to panic. They do need to choose a lane. Tresoldi may be talented, and Asllani may be promising, but the Kroupi injury should force Spurs to think harder about sequence, not just opportunity.

As a Tottenham fan, the frustrating part is that this report makes too much sense. Kroupi getting injured feels like the sort of bad luck that always hits just when a deal starts to look realistic, and now the club are left balancing urgency against patience. You can see both sides of it.

If the recruitment team genuinely think Kroupi is the long-term answer, then waiting is fine, provided they do not leave De Zerbi short this season. That is the key point. We cannot go into a big campaign hoping Solanke stays fit for months on end, while Richarlison’s future remains up in the air. That would be asking for trouble.

Tresoldi sounds exciting, and supporters will always get drawn to a young forward with upside, especially one already being watched by big European clubs. But there is a wider squad picture here. Spurs have spent heavily already, and there is no point filling the squad with overlapping profiles just because one target became temporarily unavailable.

What most fans probably want is competence. Sign someone useful, reliable and ready to contribute immediately, then revisit Kroupi when he is fit and the market is clearer. That is not boring, that is good planning. Tottenham have had enough transfer windows driven by impulse. This one needs to be driven by logic.
