Hakan Calhanoglu is reportedly eager to renew his contract with Inter Milan after nearly falling out of favor last summer.

Only last summer, it looked like Hakan Calhanoglu could sever ties with Inter in a rather unceremonious fashion.

Indeed, his agent was flirting with Galatasaray, who had tried to lure him back to his homeland.

Meanwhile, Calhanoglu’s silence prompted a fierce response from Lautaro Martinez, who blasted the Turk after Inter’s FIFA Club World Cup exit.

Lautaro and Calhanoglu have patched things up on the pitch this season, netting 25 goals combined in Serie A.

Furthermore, their impressive exploits have put Inter on the brink of a 21st Scudetto.

Therefore, the former AC Milan midfielder is now keen to stay at San Siro.
