Repubblica: A ‘glimmer of hope’ opening for Theo’s renewal chances – when a decision will arrive | OneFootball

Theo Hernandez’s renewal is one of the most interesting situations at AC Milan currently, and there may be a turnaround in his fortunes.

Since last summer’s mercato, there have been questions plaguing Milan about the renewals of key players. Mike Maignan’s renewal seems to be on the verge of finalising, but for Theo, the conversations have always been much more difficult.

Externally, the difficult conversation has been, will he sign or not? Whilst internal discussions have not progressed in months, despite all parties repeating the same message: they both want to continue together despite the hold-up.

Against Udinese, Theo was superb, his brilliant self once again. However, against Atalanta, the left-back was at fault for the sole goal conceded, which has brought him back into the firing line, frustratingly so.

Despite this, talks about a renewal are still growing, partially due to Geoffrey Moncada’s words before Sunday’s game, and today, a report from Repubblica provides a brief update. As Milan News relay, there is a ‘glimmer of hope’ that could lead to talks restarting over a new deal for Theo.

A lot would have to be discussed, you would have to imagine, but it is a step in a direction, which way that is remains to be seen, but there is a sign of life, which there has not been in a while. More updates are expected within the next few weeks, and a decision would presumably arrive before the summer.
