According to Defensa Central, Brazil national team coach Carlo Ancelotti is seriously considering calling up Eder Militao for the September international break after the defender’s impressive display in Real Madrid’s pre-season.

Militao, who had only recently returned to playing during the FIFA Club World Cup, made his first full start following a serious knee injury in the match against WSG Tirol yesterday.

The Brazilian centre-back seized the opportunity with a scintillating performance, opening the scoring in a 4-0 victory.

His confident display not only thrilled Real Madrid fans but also caught the attention of Ancelotti, who sees potential for Militao to be involved with the Selecao in the upcoming international fixtures.

Return to the national team

It is to be noted that Brazil have already secured qualification for the 2026 World Cup, but they still have two remaining matches in the South American qualifiers.

These games could provide an ideal chance for Militao to return to the national side, especially given his renewed form and fitness.

Ancelotti is reportedly in direct communication with both Militao and Real Madrid to assess the defender’s condition.

He wants to understand the player’s true physical readiness and whether he can handle the additional workload without risk.

There is also a possibility that resting Militao for these two matches may be better for his long-term recovery, allowing him to fully resume club duties in October if progress continues smoothly.

Real Madrid will monitor

The final decision will ultimately depend on Real Madrid’s medical team and Militao himself. While Ancelotti is keen to include him in the squad, he does not want to rush the process or jeopardise the player’s health.

If all parties give their approval, Militao could soon be back in action for Brazil, adding both defensive solidity and attacking threat to the national team lineup.

Militao’s performance against WSG Tirol has reinforced his importance to Real Madrid and may also mark the start of a new chapter in his international career, signalling a full return to top-level football after a challenging injury period.
