Inter Milan goalkeeper Yann Sommer will be out for at least three weeks after suffering a thumb fracture.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan goalkeeper Yann Sommer has suffered a fracture to his right thumb.
Earlier today, the Nerazzurri confirmed that the 36-year-old underwent medical tests today. They revealed the injury.
Naturally, the big question is how long Sommer will be out for.
The Swiss’s absence is certainly a big blow. He is a key player for Inter, having started every match this season in Serie A and the Champions League.
And according to Sky, Sommer will be sidelined for an extended period.
The broadcaster anticipate that it will be no less than three weeks before the former Bayern Munich keeper is able to return to action.

That is certainly bad news for Inter.
The Nerazzurri face Genoa in Serie A this weekend. Then, they go head-to-head with Napoli in a potential title-decided the following weekend.
Sommer will miss that match against the Partenopei.
Meanwhile, next month Inter will face either Feyenoord or PSV in the Champions League round of sixteen. Sommer will certainly be a big doubt for that tie.
