Inter Milan reportedly ‘sketched out’ a detailed plan to sign Atalanta midfielder Ederson last summer.

According to Corriere di Bergamo via FCInter1908, the Brazilian was Inter’s top target ahead of Ademola Lookman.

Despite spending most of the summer trying to land the Nigerian winger, the Nerazzurri eventually ended up empty-handed.

Indeed, Atalanta fended off Inter’s repeated attempts to close the deal, even banishing the former RB Leipzig ace from the squad.

However, Lookman was not Inter’s priority.

Before going ‘all-out’ in their pursuit of Lookman, Inter had hoped to lure Ederson away from Bergamo.

With Hakan Calhanoglu heavily linked with a move to Istanbul, the Nerazzurri had identified Ederson as his replacement.

Furthermore, Cristian Chivu’s men were reportedly willing to offer around €60 million to land the 26-year-old.

Yet, like in Lookman’s case, Atalanta had no interest in selling their first-team stalwart under any circumstances.

La Dea’s stance might change, especially considering Ederson’s contract runs out in the summer of 2027.
