Speculation surrounding Michael Olise and Real Madrid has taken a new turn. According to Sport BILD, Kylian Mbappé reportedly tried personally during the World Cup to convince his national teammate to join Los Blancos.
Michael Olise’s future remains one of the biggest transfer topics at FC Bayern. While the Munich club wants to keep the attacking star long-term and extend his contract, Real Madrid is apparently continuing to work behind the scenes on a possible signing of the Frenchman.
According to information from Sport BILD, Kylian Mbappé played a central role in this. The Real star is said to have developed a close friendship with Olise and to have actively courted him for Real during the World Cup. According to the report, Mbappé explained to Olise how well the two would gel together at Real Madrid and assured him that the club was determined to sign him. In addition, the 27-year-old painted a rosy picture of life in Madrid for his national teammate, raving about the city and the quality of life there.
According to the report, after France’s semifinal loss to Spain, Mbappé even informed Real Madrid President Florentino Pérez that he had received positive signals from Olise regarding a possible transfer.
The Champions League is said to be a decisive factor in this. Following France’s disappointing performance at the World Cup, Olise apparently wants more than ever to win the Champions League trophy as soon as possible. The 24-year-old reportedly believes his chances of winning the title with Real Madrid are currently higher than they are with FC Bayern.

However, the situation remains open. According to the report, Real Madrid has not officially contacted either Olise or his agent. Bayern President Herbert Hainer and Florentino Pérez continue to abide by an agreement not to poach players from each other without first informing the respective club.
The Munich club is therefore pursuing a different strategy. Following Olise’s three-week special leave, club officials plan to hold talks with the attacking player shortly and offer him an early contract extension. According to information from Sport BILD, his annual salary—currently estimated at around 14 million euros—could rise to about 25 million euros.
At the same time, Olise apparently wants to hear from Bayern’s management about how the club plans to position itself on the field in the coming years. In particular, the club’s prospects in the Champions League play a decisive role in this. According to the report, the upcoming talks could determine whether the Frenchman submits a transfer request this summer—or commits to FC Bayern for the long term after all.
