Inter Milan are closing in on an agreement with Independiente Rivadavia over the transfer of Tomas Palacios. So when will the deal reach the finish line?

The Nerazzurri have identified the 21-year-old as the right profile to bolster their backline. The left-footed defender can serve as a backup for Alessandro Bastoni while adjusting to life in Europe.

Moreover, Oaktree Capital have given the green light for the operation, as the youngster fits the parameters they implemented regarding new signings. The Nerazzurri owners want the management to sign young players with rising market values.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInterNews, Palacios will be a new Inter player next week.

The pink newspaper believes the youngster might even arrive in Italy as early as Monday. But it all depends on how fast the two clubs can sort out the final details in their agreement.

The Nerazzurri will splash 6.5 million euros as a fixed tranfer fee to sign the central defender.

However, the bonuses and sell-on fee clauses are yet to be fully defined.

Tomas Palacios To Join Inter Milan Next Week

The source believes the add-ons could depend directly on the player’s number of appearances throughout the season. Some sources claim the bonuses could raise the total sum to 11 million euros.

As for the initial transfer fee (6.5M), Inter will raise the funds for the operation through the sale of Martin Satriano. The Uruguayan will join Lens on loan with an option to buy for almost similar figures.

The report adds that Palacios’ desire to join the Italian champions played a pivotal role in the negotiations.

The young Argentine started his career at Talleres and is currently on loan at Independiente Rivadavia who have the option to buy him, hence why they’re the ones negotiating with the Nerazzurri.
