The RFEF Disciplinary Committee has opened a preliminary inquiry into an alleged racist insult reported by Real Sociedad B’s Kazunari Kita during their match with Castellón, according to El Periódico Mediterráneo.

In the 94th minute, the anti-racism protocol was activated after Kita told the referee that Castellón player Alberto Jiménez had called him “puto chino”. The officiating team did not hear the remark.

The committee began proceedings to clarify what happened and, if appropriate, determine any disciplinary responsibility arising from the incident.

The episode was recorded in the referee’s match report under other observations.
