Rob Edwards says Rodrigo Gomes will be part of Wolves' squad next season in the Championship, after the winger impressed in the 1-1 draw with Fulham.
The 22-year-old returned to the XI at Molineux in a more advanced role as Wolves shifted to a back four. According to ExpressAndStar.com, he started the move for Mateus Mane's goal and was involved in most of the hosts' best attacks.
Edwards praised Gomes' endeavour and commitment, said he remains a young player with plenty to learn, and highlighted his desire to run and fight. He added that coaches are pleased with his day-to-day work and that there is more to come.
Asked whether that progress would continue in a Wolves shirt next season, Edwards responded affirmatively, saying he did not see it any other way.
There were no on-pitch end-of-season awards after full-time and no organised lap of appreciation. Instead, Edwards led most of the players to applaud supporters, while some team-mates acknowledged only the South Bank before heading off.
Edwards said his focus was on the football and he completed his own lap after discussing its importance with a fan at a recent forum. He felt early boos turned to greater understanding as he engaged, thanked supporters, and accepted it is on the team to prove the direction, adding he was unsure what others did behind him.
