Large sections of the fanbase at La Liga champions Barcelona have on Saturday evening made clear their frustrations with the standard of officiating in Real Madrid’s clash with Villarreal.
This comes after several high-profile decisions went in favour of the former.
Real Madrid of course played host to Villarreal a short time ago, in the respective clubs’ final fixture heading into the international break.
When all was said and done, it was the former who emerged triumphant, courtesy of a 3-1 scoreline.
Vinícius Jr. proved himself the star of the show, notching a brace, before Kylian Mbappé rounded out the scoring late on.
As alluded to above, though, left less than impressed en route to their side’s arch rivals climbing back to the top of the Spanish top-flight table were those of a Barcelona persuasion.
Late on Saturday, considerable sections of the Blaugrana fanbase have highlighted major incidents which they feel should not have gone in favour of Real Madrid, chiefly a 2nd-half penalty kick, and a red card shown to Villarreal star Santiago Mouriño.
In both cases, it has been claimed that Vinícius Jr. was responsible for simulation.
