Robert Lewandowski has officially signed for Chicago Fire, joining MLS after his Barcelona contract expired. He is 37.
As previously reported by The Athletic, the former Bayern Munich No 9 now embarks on his first season across the Atlantic. He will line up alongside former Lille player Jonathan Bamba and strengthen the Eastern Conference third-placed team.
He began at Znicz Prszkow from 2006 to 2008, then moved to Lech Poznan between 2008 and 2010. He joined Dortmund from 2010 to 2014, then Bayern from 2014 to 2022, where he became one of the outstanding centre-forwards of his generation.
He is Poland’s most-capped player with 167 appearances and their all-time leading scorer with 89 goals.
Poland did not qualify for the 2026 World Cup, yet he will still discover the United States with his new club.
