Roma add Anselmino to transfer shortlist

Roma are looking to strengthen their defense ahead of next season.

Among Roma’s top transfer targets is Verona central defender Daniele Ghilardi, who Real Betis also likes and whom the Gialloblu value around €10 million.

According to Il Messaggero, however, Ghilardi isn’t the only name the Giallorossi are considering. Fredric Massara is also considering Chelsea central defender Anselmino, born in 2005 and fresh from winning the Club World Cup with the Blues.

Last summer, the British club paid €17 million to Boca Juniors for him, but the player remained on loan in Argentina until January 2025, when he returned to London.

The deal, however, is proving complicated due to the player’s lack of an EU passport: Roma will evaluate their options in the coming days.
