Roma have been in talks with Sancho for several days, but the English winger seems unwilling to join the Giallorossi.

“Sancho is a strong player, who was linked with all the Italian clubs,” Massara confirmed via SportMediaset.

“At the moment, it is only a suggestion, because it doesn’t seem as if there are the right conditions and above all, the motivation to carry on these negotiations.”

On the other hand, one outgoing player in the capital is Lorenzo Pellegrini, who is no longer the captain for 2025-26.

West Ham have recently been linked with the Italy international, who won’t extend his contract with the club beyond 2026.

“I spoke to his agent as soon as I arrived, and we shared the decision that we’d not extend his contract,” Massara said.

“Therefore, not to lose the player on a free transfer, and also considering Lorenzo’s will, we are looking for opportunities. There are still eight days remaining; otherwise, it will be in the January window.”

Roma appointed Gian Piero Gasperini as their new coach this summer, while Bologna kept Vincenzo Italiano after winning the Coppa Italia last term.

Earlier today, Napoli secured a 2-0 win over Sassuolo while Lecce and Genoa drew 0-0 in the first two Serie A games of the season.
