With the summer transfer window fast approaching, the Friedkins are already hard at work, aiming to further enhance the value of Roma’s squad.
Interest in Julian Brandt, who is leaving Borussia Dortmund, has been confirmed, but now attention is shifting to the flanks as well.
In the Netherlands, the name catching the eye of the Giallorossi management is Souffian El Karouani, a 2002-born left-back from Utrecht, whose contract expires on June 30th.
A dual national, El Karouani is also in the sights of other European clubs, including Leeds and Marseille.
Also for the left-back position, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that sporting director Massara is also keeping an eye on Genoa’s Aaron Martin.
Although the Rossoblu have the option to extend the player’s contract until 2027, Martin doesn’t seem convinced to stay in Genoa, and a summer transfer for around €5 million seems highly likely.
Given Tsimikas’ disappointing season, who will likely return to Liverpool at the end of the season, and the likely departure of Celik, whose contract is expiring, the Trigoria club will therefore have to dig deep and get involved in the transfer market to be prepared and provide Gasperini with the necessary reinforcements.
