Roma have been in touch with Cesc Fabregas amid their ongoing coaching search, as Claudio Ranieri restated a few times that there’s no chance of changing his mind and convincing him to guide the team for another campaign.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Giallorossi are high on the Como manager and inquired about his interest in switching sides. He hinted publicly that he’d stay put and is highly involved in the project. He pulls his weight on the transfer market and even owns some shares of the team.

Ranieri and Fabregas were pictured chatting in the tunnel toward the locker room after the meeting between Roma and Como not too long ago. The veteran gaffer, who will serve as a senior advisor once he retires, recently claimed to have already submitted his list of candidates to succeed him to governor Dan Friedkin, who has the final say.

The Giallorossi are also tracking Francesco Farioli. He has put the discussions about his future on hold while chasing the title with Ajax. His agent is handling the topic. Moreover, Stefano Pioli would be a candidate if he got out of his contract with Al-Nassr.

Our Take on Roma and Fabregas

He’s been excellent in his short career so far, but it’d be a risk both for him and his potential landing spot. He has a nice perch where he is, and they have the potential and firepower to grow a lot. The capital club is one of the toughest jobs to handle, considering the pressure and expectations of the loud fan base. While there are a few captivating up-and-comers out there, they need somebody with broad shoulders who has already proven he can handle this kind of situation.
