Roma have re-appointed Claudio Ranieri as their head coach for a third time.
The veteran tactician has returned to his boyhood club to once again sit on the touchline at the Stadio Olimpico.
The Giallorossi confirmed the news on Thursday via an official statement on their website.
The statement read: "AS Roma is pleased to announce that Claudio Ranieri is the new head coach of the first team.
"At the conclusion of the season, Claudio will transition into a senior executive role, where he will be an adviser to the ownership on all sporting matters at the club.
"The search for a future coach will proceed over the next months. Claudio will have input in that decision as well."
Ranieri last coached the capital club in 2019 for 12 games having previously been in charge for 18 months between September 2009 and February 2011.
His most recent job was with Cagliari where he earned them promotion back to Serie A.
