Roma are set to fire director Ricky Massara this summer as the Friedkin family reshape the sporting department around coach Gian Piero Gasperini.
The overhaul follows the dismissal of special advisor Claudio Ranieri after disagreements with Gasperini. The owners want a structure that supports the coach’s ideas, which in turn points to a change at director level.
Tuttomercatoweb suggests Roma approached Inter’s Piero Ausilio, though a departure after a Scudetto win is considered highly unlikely.
Giovanni Manna of Napoli is viewed as a more realistic option. He built his reputation establishing Juventus Next Gen, a model Roma are keen to emulate.
Repubblica reports that Manna is the Friedkins’ preferred candidate, but a buyout of €10m would be required.
Daniele Pradè is seen as an easier deal after he resigned from Fiorentina earlier this season following a disastrous start. He previously held several roles at Roma, including director of sport from 2000 to 2011.
