Roma finished the season third in the league with 73 points, their best result since 2018-19.
The last season in which the Giallorossi team performed better was in 2017-18 under Eusebio Di Francesco (77).
Final league placement is also important for increasingly important economic aspects for football clubs: it determines whether they earn more or less based on the distribution of revenue from television rights.
As Calcio e Finanza reports, position directly impacts approximately 11% of total revenue.
This year, a budget of approximately €100 million has been estimated, distributed among the 20 Serie A teams. How much will Roma earn by finishing third?
The Friedkins are smiling, seeing a significant increase in revenue. Indeed, thanks to the performance of Gasperini’s team, Roma will earn significantly more this year than in previous seasons, when they consistently missed out on the Champions League.
The Giallorossi will receive €11.3 million for finishing third in the league. Inter, who won the league, will receive €15.7 million, while Napoli, second, will receive €13.2 million.
