Inter need to hurry for Cristian Romero, as multiple sources confirm Atletico Madrid will make the first offer to Tottenham Hotspur, fuelled by Nahuel Molina’s sale to Roma.

The Nerazzurri are finding themselves in a familiar position this summer, again with almost a done deal on their hands, only to wait too long and allow themselves to be out-bid at the last minute.

Inter can’t wait forever with Romero

It has been known for weeks that Spurs accepted the proposal worth €40m for the sale, so they have been working on personal terms with the Argentina international defender.

They also need to make a sale before bringing in any new players, hoping to find an exit path for Benjamin Pavard.

However, Atletico Madrid were interested too and are now ready to make their own bid after raising funds by agreeing the sale of Nahuel Molina to Roma.

Italy international Matteo Ruggeri is also in talks with Aston Villa and can add even more cash to the kitty for Romero.

Marca, Sky Sport Italia, Fabrizio Romano and Sportitalia all confirm that Atletico Madrid have targeted Cuti Romero and can meet the €40m fee agreed between Tottenham and Inter.

It now becomes a race against time to agree personal terms with the Argentina international.
