Rossi names rival Fábio as Brazil’s best goalkeeper after standout 2025 season

After a standout 2025 with Flamengo, Agustín Rossi has named Fluminense keeper Fábio as the best in Brazil.

In an interview with ESPN, Rossi took part in a head-to-head exercise comparing every Série A goalkeeper except himself, and selected Fábio each time.

Rossi was central to Flamengo’s fourth Libertadores title in 2025. He has 150 appearances for the club with 72 clean sheets, and is under contract until December 2027.

Rossi previously played for Lanús between July 2019 and June 2020, making 30 appearances for the Argentine side.

With Rossi available, Flamengo open their Recopa Sudamericana campaign away to Lanús on Thursday 19 at 21:30 Brasília time. The first leg of the continental final will be staged at Estadio Ciudad de Lanús.
