Former Roma goalkeeper Rui Patricio has officially found a new club.

The veteran free agent has signed a one-year deal with Atalanta—becoming the team’s new vice shot-stopper following the departure of Juan Musso to Atletico Madrid. He’ll back-up first choice option Marco Carnesecchi, who had a breakout season in 2023/24.

The 36 year-old joins La Dea following his departure from Roma in June. He originally joined the Giallorossi in the summer of 2021 and spent three seasons with the club, making 129 appearances during his stint in the Italian capital.

“I’ve chosen Atalanta because it’s a great club, which is also why I’m proud to be here,” the Portuguese international told Atalanta’s website.

“I’ll do my best to be perfect and do whatever I can to help the team win. I can’t wait to get started and send a hug to all the supporters!”
