The Baggies’ playing squad are getting used to the fresh ideas head coach Ryan Mason is looking to implement, with the Black Country outfit drawing 1-1 with Dynamo Kyiv in a behind-closed-doors friendly game in Austria.

So far during the summer transfer window, Albion have recruited two new faces to the club, with seasoned Championship defender Nat Phillips linking up at The Hawthorns, while the club recently announced the capture of Norwegian striker Aune Heggebo from SK Brann.

One Baggies man who has been touted for a move away from The Hawthorns is midfielder Isaac Price, who has interested Burnley and Sunderland after immediately hitting it off with the West Brom faithful for a brilliant second half of the season since joining from Standard Liege.

Growing and developing into a quality midfielder at Championship level, new boss Ryan Mason must do all he can to keep him, with the 21-year-old expected to play a key role in their promotion push back to the top-flight if he remains in B71.

Isaac Price arrived to the West Midlands in the latter stages of last season’s winter window from Standard Liege, where he had established himself as a first-team regular in the Belgian Pro League.

Price would be quickly integrated into a starting role and would begin to show off his talent.

While his attacking contributions weren’t at the level his performances deserved, Price notched his first assist for the club in a 2-0 win over Oxford United, while he celebrated his first goal for the Baggies with a dipping effort in a home draw with Hull City.

Price has left the Albion faithful very impressed by his early spell, with his relentless ability in the press, willingness to get on the ball and versatility to play in numerous positions superb attributes to possess at this level.

In only 15 appearances, Price has occupied roles as a number ten, in central midfield, on either wing and even as a right-back, with the latter the position he played in when grabbing his debut goal for the club.

Adapting so well to the second tier has led to Price being linked with moves to the Premier League too, with promoted duo Sunderland and Burnley reportedly interested in a summer move for the Northern Ireland international.

Impressing at only 21 in the Championship, Price appears to be a Premier League player in waiting and will only continue to grow and develop in time.

A player with immense talent and versatility, Price could really thrive under the progressive style of Ryan Mason, with the Irishman having both the youth and versatility on his side that has helped him stand out in such a relentless division.

The Baggies don’t have any other players who can play in as many positions as he can, while possessing the ability to give 100% no matter the turnaround of time.

Albion are also still limited for creative players at the top end of the pitch, with Tammer Bany still an unknown quantity, while the club have lost the likes of John Swift and Grady Diangana.

Price is one of the most promising players at West Brom right now. While it’s unsurprising to see rumours of a Premier League move, Mason must make assurances to Price that he will be one of Albion’s main men to help the team fight towards a return to the big time.

Placing that kind of responsibility onto Price could be the key to seeing him maintain his stay at The Hawthorns and allow Albion to keep one of the brightest and emerging talents in the second tier.
