According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, reports emerged on Monday that Tunisia head coach Sabri Lamouchi is to be sacked after a 5-1 defeat by Sweden in their World Cup opener.

Tunisia face an uphill battle to escape Group F, with Japan and the Netherlands to come.

Lamouchi is well known to Leeds United supporters from Nottingham Forest's 8 February 2020 win at the City Ground. Marcelo Bielsa later spoke of a loss of faith around his team, and Luke Ayling gave a haunted post-match interview. That defeat left Leeds with one win in six.

Leeds drew 1-1 at Brentford a few days later and kick-started a surge, winning the next five and 12 of their final 14 to be crowned champions.

Forest, under Lamouchi, won only three of their last 15 and finished seventh, missing the play-offs on goal difference. He was sacked in October 2020, later managing Al-Duhail, Cardiff City, Al-Riyadh and Al-Diriyah before taking the Tunisia job in January.
