According to Meu Timao, SAFiel, which proposes turning Corinthians into a SAF, received a call from president Osmar Stabile about its June proposal. He would seek CORI approval to sign at a meeting on Monday 27, and the group set Tuesday 28 as the deadline for his position. He also denied talks with other investors, while SAFiel voiced concern that evidence points otherwise and is monitoring any move to hand football to an external investor.
The contact followed pressure from Gaviões da Fiel on Stabile at Parque São Jorge on Monday. Under the club’s statute, CORI is consultative and cannot take final decisions.
Filed on 2 June, the offer targets R$ 2.5 billion in funding, rising to R$ 3 billion if demand exceeds expectations. The money would prioritise football debt relief, sporting investment, infrastructure and governance.
A SAF would take football assets and liabilities, run separately from other departments. The club would keep a stake, receive an estimated R$ 600 million in royalties over 10 years, hold a golden share and create governance bodies.
Voting shares would go to Corinthians supporters from R$ 250 with caps per CPF. Institutions could buy only non-voting stock if needed. Safeguards cover name, crest, colours and symbols, and a reversibility clause is included.
The process depends on statutory approvals, due diligence by a Big Four firm, regulatory clearances and a members’ General Assembly. As a non-binding letter, it asks for formal analysis by the presidency, CORI and the Deliberative Council before any vote.
