Santiago Bueno voted Wolves player of the season as awards handed out | OneFootball

Wolves confirmed their end-of-season award winners following Friday’s training session at Compton Park, ahead of their final game of the season at Burnley, with Santiago Bueno taking the top honour.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, the 27-year-old topped the supporters’ vote with 34 per cent, finishing ahead of Joao Gomes and Hugo Bueno.

Bueno made 33 appearances in defence this season and scored four goals, including his first for the club at Spurs and an FA Cup winner at Grimsby Town.

Gomes, last year’s player of the season, was named players’ player of the year. He also received Wolves’ men’s community player of the season award and the club’s PFA community champion accolade for his work with the Wolves Foundation over the past 12 months.

Hugo Bueno claimed goal of the season for his strike against recently crowned Premier League champions Arsenal, finding the top corner from the edge of the box to spark a comeback.

Wolves Women were recognised after securing a historic promotion to WSL 2.

Georgia Marshall was voted supporters’ player of the season, with Amber Hughes named players’ player of the season.

Abbi Jenner won goal of the season for her effort against Sporting Khalsa, while Hughes finished as top scorer and took the league’s Golden Boot with 21 goals in the 2025/26 campaign. Louanne Worsey was named Wolves’ PFA women’s community champion.
