According to Diario Do Peixe, Santos have extended goalkeeper Rodrigo Falcão’s contract by three seasons, with the agreement registered on the CBF’s BID on Monday. He had been tied only until 31 October, and president Marcelo Teixeira chose renewal amid interest from Portugal and elsewhere.

Falcão’s Copa São Paulo campaign was his last at youth level, having aged out, and he was first choice throughout. Since the tournament ended he has trained with the senior squad but is yet to make his debut.

He is competing with Gabriel Brazão and Diógenes, while fellow Under-20 goalkeeper João Pedro has also been working with the first team.

Last year he returned from an anterior cruciate ligament injury and a fractured little finger, then starred for the Under-20s in their Paulista title win, saving penalties. He made 18 appearances in the Brasileiro and 17 in the state competition.

In 2024 he was registered on Paulistão’s List B and sat on the bench for the first eight rounds. In mid-February he sustained an anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus injury in his left knee. Around that time he rejected an offer from Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia.

Born in 2005 in Santos, he joined Meninos da Vila aged five before moving to futsal with Gremetal. Coach Biscoito first used him in goal when a keeper was absent, and at eight he returned to Santos futsal, switching to grass at 10. He lives near Vila Belmiro and has supported the club since childhood.
