According to Diario Do Peixe, Santos have agreed to loan striker Tiquinho Soares to Mirassol until the end of the season.

With opportunities limited, his camp and the club explored a contract termination but could not reach an amicable agreement. The centre-forward asked to leave and was willing to forgo nearly half of what he was due, but the board sought more and talks stalled. Santos will cover a significant share of his wages during the loan.

A calf oedema sidelined him at the start of the year and he worked internally to recover. He then made the bench against São Paulo in the Brasileiro, but was not named in the squads to face Noroeste in the Paulista and Athletico-PR in the league.

He has also lost the number nine shirt following Gabigol’s arrival. Signed in January 2025 on a deal running to the end of 2027, he joined in a linked negotiation with Botafogo that sent centre-back Jair to the Rio club.

At Botafogo he played 120 matches, scoring 44 goals with 17 assists, and was pivotal in the 2024 Brasileiro and Libertadores titles. For Santos he has 43 appearances with nine goals and four assists.

The 35-year-old, born in Sousa, Paraíba, previously played in Portugal, China and Greece before joining Botafogo in 2022. Santos also have 12 other players out on loan.
