Santos just above drop zone, next up for Corinthians

After a week and a half without commitments due to the FIFA date, Corinthians returns to the field this Wednesday night, the 15th, for the Brasileirão. In the 28th round of the championship, the People's Team goes to Vila Belmiro to face Santos, in the fourth Alvinegro Classic of the season, at 9:30 PM (Brasília time).

Even with several reinforcements signed throughout 2025, including the star Neymar Júnior, Santos is not having a positive year. The club is on its third coach of the season and is in 16th place in the Brasileirão standings, just one above the relegation zone.

The team renewed its style of play with the arrival of Juan Pablo Vojvoda, but is already experiencing a new winless streak, with three in total. The last match, against Ceará, worsened Santos' crisis due to the performance on the field and the result: 3 x 0 for Vozão.

For the classic, Santos will be without the striker Tiquinho Soares, who had been the reference in the Santos attack. Additionally, the number 10 Neymar is also still unavailable for the team. It is worth mentioning that the only classic played by the attacking midfielder in 2025 was against Corinthians, in the first phase of the Paulistão.

In case of a Corinthians victory, Peixe could find itself in even more trouble in the Brasileirão. Vitória, which is in 17th place, faces Bahia at home and, with a combination of results, matches Santos' points but cannot surpass them due to the number of victories, the first tiebreaker criterion in the standings.
