Santos launch mini-series on club idols and their World Cup stories | OneFootball

Santos have launched a World Cup-themed mini-series, “Brasilidade: A Copa pelos Santistas”, bringing together club figures to share their experiences with the Brazil national team. It is available on Santos TV, with clips also expected on the club’s main social channels.

According to Diario Do Peixe, the first episode went live on Thursday 11 at 12:00, fronted by Elano, the club’s youth football manager and a 2010 World Cup participant.

The recordings include contributions from Ricardo Oliveira, Giovanni, Serginho Chulapa, Pepe and Edu, among others who made their mark for Santos. Interviews were filmed at Vila Belmiro and further stories will appear in the coming days as the World Cup continues.

Club president Marcelo Teixeira said Santos’ history is inseparable from the national team, pointing to the long list of players who have been decisive at World Cups. He referenced past squads built around Pelé, Mengálvio, Pepe, Dorval and Coutinho, and noted that this edition will again, after 56 years, feature a Santos No 10 wearing the same number for Brazil.

Head of Social Media Ricardo Cardoso said the aim was to offer behind-the-scenes insight with icons who genuinely shaped Brazil’s story. He added that they revisited triumphs, feats, disappointments and traumas, many little known, with Santos also a central theme. The content team has adjusted its output during the World Cup and is preparing to unveil more.
