São Paulo sink Mirassol with superb goals, close on Paulista lead: watch

São Paulo beat Mirassol 2-0 this Monday (27), at the Prefeito Gabriel Marques da Silva Municipal Stadium, in Santana de Parnaíba (SP), in the 5th round of the Paulista Women’s Championship.

The beautiful goals in Tricolor’s win were scored by Bia Menezes and Kesia Sena. Watch them at the end of the article. With the result, São Paulo reached 9 points in the competition, with three wins and two losses in five matches played, moving close to leaders Ferroviária, who also have 9 points.

However, Ferroviária as well as Corinthians and Palmeiras, both with 7 points and set to face each other, still have to play in this round of the state championship.

WIN IN TWO HALVES

Early in the match, in the 29th minute, Karla Alves unleashed a rocket from outside the box, forcing a save from the opposing goalkeeper. Then, in the 47th minute, Bia Menezes curled a free kick into the right corner and scored a stunning goal, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance.

After the break, in the 42nd minute, Kesia Sena received a good pass from Carol Gil and doubled the lead after dribbling past the goalkeeper. Tricolor controlled the game and created more attacking plays. They looked for another goal on a few occasions, managed the advantage well, and came away with all three points.

São Paulo’s next match will be against Vitória on Saturday (8/1), at 9 p.m. (Brasília time), at Manoel Barradas Stadium, in Salvador (BA), in the 14th round of the Brasileirão. In the Paulista Women’s Championship, Tricolor return to the field against Santos on Thursday (13), at 7 p.m., at CFA Laudo Natel, in Cotia (SP), as the state championship continues.
