Edin Dzeko is set to return to Germany, with Schalke beating Paris FC to his signature. Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the 39-year-old is prepared to sign a six-month contract with the second-tier leaders.
A return to the country where he shone with Wolfsburg is said to have tipped the decision towards the Gelsenkirchen club.

His Fiorentina stint ends abruptly six months after his arrival in Tuscany.
He is scheduled to leave Florence today for Germany, where he will undergo a medical with Schalke later this afternoon before the move is officialised.
He looks to bolster Schalke’s bid for promotion back to the top flight.
