Santos lost 1-0 to Palmeiras this Wednesday, in the second round of the Campeonato Paulista. Midfielder João Schmidt stated that Peixe deserved a better result at Arena Barueri.

“It leaves a bitter taste. We created chances and had opportunities. We didn’t deserve to leave with this negative result. We could have left with a win or at least a draw. After a defeat in a derby, it’s hard to talk. We wanted the victory. We’re working hard and we really believe in the title. We’re going to fight for the finals,” he told HBO Max.
