Scott Phelan set to be given permanent Everton job

Everton are set to appoint Scott Phelan as the women's team manager on a permanent basis according to reports.

Phelan took over following the sacking of Brian Sørensen back in February after a slow start to the season.

The Toffees went on to win four of their remaining nine fixtures under Phelan – with victories over London City Lionesses, West Ham, Tottenham, and Leicester City – as well as suffering five defeats with the team eventually finishing eight in the WSL.

According to journalists Megan Feringa and Patrick Boyland of The Athletic, Phelan has done enough to land the job on a permanent basis although the deal is yet to be completed.

Phelan had previously been the men's Under 18 coach at Everton and is set to have Phil Jevons as his assistant manager.
