Sebastián Driussi is a doubt for River’s meeting with Sarmiento de Junín after suffering pubalgia and going off at the break during the 2-1 victory at Huracán.
According to SuperDepor.com, the forward scored at the Tomás Adolfo Ducó, then made way for Joaquín Freitas at half-time, a change that raised concern within Eduardo Coudet’s staff.
Post-match, Coudet said Driussi has been managing the issue for several days and that, per the medical staff, it relates to the pubis rather than a muscular problem.
The club’s doctors have not outlined a recovery timeline, and the player is aiming to be fit for River’s Copa Sudamericana debut and the subsequent Superclásico.
River host Sarmiento at El Monumental and there is still no confirmation on Driussi’s involvement. With no midweek fixture, Coudet could choose to rest him before Sunday 22 March against Estudiantes de Río Cuarto.
If he misses out, Freitas is the leading option up front with Ian Subiabre. Maximiliano Salas, Agustín Ruberto and Cristian Jaime are also possible, though the latter two were not in the last squad, while Facundo Colidio is suspended after his red card against Huracán.
