Mobilization is intensifying in Senegal following the conviction of 18 supporters in Morocco. In order to make their voices heard, some activists have decided to organize a march on February 28 through the streets of Dakar.

The demonstration is set to kick off on Saturday, February 28 at 10 a.m. According to Wiwsport, several prominent sports figures in Senegal are joining this solidarity movement for the 18 fans who have been sentenced to terms ranging from 3 to 18 months. Senegalese media also reported that former national coach Amara Traoré has taken a stand and called for a peaceful march.

According to the organizers, Saturday's march aims to amplify their voices and denounce the sentences handed down at the initial trial. Protesters have also urged the country's highest authorities to exhaust all possible diplomatic and legal avenues.

Senegalese Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko assured on Tuesday that the government is continuing its efforts, mentioning the possibility of a royal pardon and the return of the supporters to their homeland.
