Manchester United could be on the verge of securing their fifth signing of the summer.
The Red Devils have been chasing a keeper all summer and now seem to have chosen their main target.
Reports broke this morning that United were close to agreeing personal terms with Lammens.
There were also stories that Manchester City and Inter Milan were circling around the player, hence why United have intensified their efforts to sign the player.
Fabrizio Romano has now updated the situation this afternoon by claiming that United are making fast progress on a deal.
The Italian journalist has confirmed that “Lammens has said yes to Man United” despite the interest of other clubs.
The Belgian keeper has already spoken out on how moving to United would be a “dream move” for him.
Romano also confirmed that City are no threat to the deal and that no talks have taken place with Pep Guardiola’s side as they are likely to pursue a deal for “Gigio Donnarumma if Éderson leaves.”
With personal terms settled, the next stage of the deal is to agree a fee with Lammens’ club Royal Antwerp.
It is understood that they are looking for a price of around £17 million.
The Italian journalist also confirmed that “talks are well underway with Royal Antwerp on transfer fee close to €20 million, with negotiations advancing.”
Therefore, United fans will be hopeful a deal can be reached in the coming hours or days as the club seeks to provide serious competition for Andre Onana.
