The Lega Serie A could move the final matches of Inter Milan and Napoli forward by a few days in view of a potential title playoff.
This according to Calcio e Finanza. They report that the league could potentially move the matches to Wednesday or Thursday of next week in order to accommodate the possibility.
Inter Milan and Napoli both have two matches left to go in Serie A.
The Nerazzurri host Lazio, and then travel to Como on the final day. Meanwhile, Napoli travel to Parma next weekend, and then host Cagliari.
Currently, Napoli are one point ahead of Inter at the top of the table.
The possibility remains, therefore, that there could be a head-to-head playoff for the title. That would happen if Inter and Napoli finish level on points.
If Inter were to win one match and lose the other while Napoli drew both their remaining matches, it would mean a playoff.
Alternatively, if Inter take just one point from their two remaining matches and Napoli take none, it would be the same scenario.

If there is to be a playoff, it would prove tricky to fit into the schedule.
That is because, in the meantime, Inter are also in the final of the Champions League. That match will take place on Saturday, May 31st.
Therefore, Inter will hardly want a situation where they must play a decisive match for the Serie A title just a few days before they also play in the Champions League final.
Accordingly, the Lega Serie A would aim to fit a playoff in by Monday, May 26th.
However, that would require the last Serie A matches of Inter and Napoli to be played earlier.
Accordingly, the league is considering moving the two matches to either Wednesday, May 21st, or Thursday, May 27th.
Inter would likely be fine with this. And then, particularly if Cagliari are to be confirmed as safe in Serie A, the Rossoblu as well as Como would likely agree to it.
However, Napoli may have some resistance to the idea.
