Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw’s performances across December have seen her win the Barclays Women’s Super League Player of the Month award.

The Jamaican saw off the sizeable challenge of City team-mate Vivianne Miedema for the award, as well as Everton’s Honoka Hayashia, Spurs’ Olivia Holdt, Liverpool’s Beata Olsson and Arsenal winger Olivia Smith.

Our number nine scored a remarkable six goals across just two WSL matches in December, beginning with a brace against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

She also grabbed an assist for Kerolin’s strike in that 3-0 win, having taken her goal tally to 99 with a second half double against the Foxes.

And her historic 100th would follow against Aston Villa, with the Jamaican opening the scoring from a Miedema cutback to reach a century of goals for City.

Shaw ended the game with four goals for good measure, as the Blues ran out 6-1 winners at the Joie Stadium.

Looking to win the WSL Golden Boot for a record third time, the Jamaican’s 12 goals already equals her tally for the entirety of last season and is more than double her nearest rivals in the scoring charts.

Those exploits have been recognised with December’s Player of the Month prize, having also won the Club’s Etihad Player of the Month award.

This is our record goalscorer’s fourth WSL Player of the Month award and first since December 2023.

Everyone at City would like to congratulate Bunny on being named December’s Barclays WSL Player of the Month.
