That's according to Norwegian outlet TV2, who have revealed that the former Tromso man is instead set for a loan move to the Netherlands, amid interest from Dutch top-flight club Herenveen.

The 23-year-old has endured a lack of game time for Luton in League One this season, although he did notch a brace and an assist when the Hatters defeated fellow third-tier club Exeter City 4-0 in the EFL Trophy last month.

Nordas initially joined the Kenilworth Road club in February 2025 under the stewardship of former boss Matt Bloomfield, but he failed to score in 10 Championship outings as his side were relegated to the third tier.

Nordas has shown glimpses of his quality this term by notching four goals and two assists across all competitions for the Hatters, including two goal contributions in League One.

The striker previously proved his class when he scored 11 goals in 33 outings for Tromso in 2024, convincing Luton to bring the Norway Under-21 international to the English game.

However, Championship strugglers Sheffield Wednesday, and playoff hopefuls Wrexham, are now set to miss out on the former Bodo/Glimt man's services.

Meanwhile, fellow interested party Herenveen, who Nordas favours, sit ninth in the Dutch Eredivisie, having accumulated 23 points from 17 matches.

Henrik Pedersen's side are feeling the on-field effects of their financial difficulties, having suffered a 19-game winless run in the Championship.

The Owls' attack has been a particular concern for Pedersen, with club top scorers Barry Bannan and Charlie McNeill managing just three goals each in the second tier.

Youngster Bailey Cadamarteri has scored just two goals in 25 Championship appearances this season, while fellow striker Ike Ugbo failed to score in 18 league outings before suffering an injury last month.

The South Yorkshire outfit remain on -7 points following their 3-0 defeat to Queens Park Rangers on Sunday, and are destined for League One amid point deductions.

Nordas could have breathed fresh life into an otherwise struggling squad, but Pedersen's men will now have to cope without the striker's services.

Meanwhile, the arrival of Nordas could have bolstered fellow interested party Wrexham's increasingly impressive playoff push.

The Red Dragons' unrelenting rise through the leagues could now be set to continue, with Phil Parkinson's side now just one point behind the top six, thanks to a remarkable Festive period which witnessed successive wins over Sheffield United, Preston North End, Blackburn Rovers, and Derby County.

Pedersen's side will look to defy the odds when they take on Premier League club Brentford in the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday, but the Hillsborough faithful will be concerned that their season is set to take another turn for the worse, thanks to Nordas's decision to pursue a move to the Netherlands, rather than one to South Yorkshire.
