Sheffield Wednesday are set to decide whether to give West Bromwich Albion a larger away ticket allocation
Sheffield Wednesday's gruelling Championship campaign will come to an end when they host West Bromwich Albion at Hillsborough on 2nd May.
Wednesday sit on -4 points following Saturday's 0-0 draw with league leaders Coventry City, as they have been deducted 18 points amid their financial struggles.
The Owls remain in administration, but preferred bidder David Storch's Arise consortium are vying to finalise their takeover by 1 May, which would make the South Yorkshire club's clash with West Brom a celebratory occasion.
Wednesday have still earned just one win in the Championship this term, while Albion still have work to do to ensure that they aren't relegated to League One alongside Henrik Pedersen's men.

As reported by The Telegraph, West Brom may be handed a points deduction, related to their 2024/25 financial accounts, which would dent their chances of staying in the second tier.
Meanwhile, the Owls were relegated to League One in February, when they suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Steel City rivals Sheffield United.
Wednesday will be playing for pride when they host West Brom, whereas James Morrison's men may still be fighting for their Championship status on the season's closing weekend.
As reported by the Sheffield Star, the Baggies have been allocated 2,460 tickets in Hillsborough stadium's West Stand upper tier, and the South Yorkshire outfit are still to decide on whether to also house away supporters in the lower tier, which has been requested by Albion. It's said they are approaching the stage where a 'final call' needs to be made.
Wednesday have often utilised the West Stand's lower tier to accommodate home supporters for big occasions and sell-out games in the past.
Despite the Owls' tough campaign, the Star report that the South Yorkshire club are hoping for a sell-out, after the Supporters' Trust requested a 'Honolulu Wednesday' occasion, when fans wear Hawaiian fancy dress and bring inflatables.
Wednesday have also lowered ticket prices all around the ground to £20 for regular admissions, with further reductions in the concession categories.
If Storch successfully completes his takeover by May, there will surely be a party atmosphere at Hillsborough, with supporters looking forward to a brighter future.

The 2025/26 Championship season has been an incredibly tough campaign, which began with a summer transfer window that the Owls faithful will remember for all the wrong reasons.
Before being banned from being Wednesday's owner, Dejphon Chansiri consistently failed to pay his staff and player wages on time, which led to several departures, including that of former boss Danny Rohl.
Then star players such as Josh Windass and Djeidi Gassama followed Rohl out of Hillsborough, with the former joining Championship rivals Wrexham.
The Owls were later plunged into administration, and the winter transfer window proved equally difficult, as Owls legend Barry Bannan signed for Millwall.
Meanwhile, Wednesday are set for a further 15-point deduction next season, as Storch's bid has fallen below the amount required to pay creditors 25p in the pound.
However, Storch's takeover deal will safeguard Wednesday's future, and there will be a party atmosphere for the clash with West Brom if the American completes his transaction within the timeline he has set.
