The saga involving Julian Alvarez’s transfer to FC Barcelona is set to remain one of the main talking points in Spanish football this summer. The Blaugranes, who see the Argentine as a perfect candidate to replace Robert Lewandowski, are intent to land the striker this summer, while Atletico Madrid are in no mood to strengthen a direct rival by the sale of their star forward.

As a result, the two clubs are involved in a tense fight for the forward, that has already gone through several notable episodes, with a final solution still not in sight.

Still, the comments made by Alvarez, in which he expressed his desire to leave the Colchonero club, are going to have a significant impact for all the involved parties.

In this regard, a report from SPORT claims that the Atletico Madrid head-coach, Diego Simeone, has already stopped counting on the player and wants his club to arrive a final solution to his problem as soon as possible.

The Argentine coach is not going to meddle in what that solution is, but as far as he is concerned, he has stopped seeing the forward as a part of his plans. This is particularly the case as he wants all of his players to be completely committed to the project, and it is clear that this is no longer the case with the former Manchester City forward.

As a result, the Atletico Madrid coach is not going to waste any time trying to convince the player to reconsider his project, and would be one of the voices from within the Colchonero club looking for the departure of Julian Alvarez.

However, this departure does not have to be for Barcelona, as other clubs like Real Madrid, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in the Argentine forward.
